Happy Birthday to William!

Happy #2! He makes his Daddy quite proud, enjoying the game of golf. Only one problem, Will has a temper. He only had these clubs for 2 weeks and broke them by beating them on the cement when he missed the ball. (too much Tiger) He is getting a sturdier set (we hope) for his birthday tomorrow.

Daddy already has plans to get him a real set for Christmas.

KEY Drama

Who would think something as simple as car keys can cause a day to get started on the wrong foot? Here is the run down on the KEY drama: Brynlee started Pre-K this week, and we load the car at 8:30 am, exit the driveway at 8:35 am, in the school drop off line by 8:42, and dropped off by 8:50. WELL, today we got to 8:30 am: load the car, but the rest of our schedule did not happen as planned.
After buckeling William and Brynlee in their seats, I realized I did not have my car keys.
Therefore, the events to follow:
8:33 am- I am in the house looking in all the typical places (key hook (98% of the time it is here), purse, kitchen counter, dresser, etc.
8:38 am- trying not to panic, back to the car, looking under seats, in pockets on the car doors, in the kid's car seats. Meanwhile, Brynlee is being like mommy and asking: Where did you have them last? We will just have to take Daddy's car (not an option, Daddy is at work with his car). Mommy, just remember where you put them.
8:42 am- back inside searching all rooms
8:48 am- back to the car. Brynlee asking: Have you found them yet?
8:55 am- Get the kids out of the car. Remembering, I do have a spare set, but William hid those 1 month ago, and I have yet to find them.
9:00 am- Thinking did I throw them away, I glance in the trash; I think: NO. I decide to call the school and tell them we will either be late or not there today.
9:05-9:45 am- I turn every basket, toy box, etc inside out and finally find the spare set in Brynlee's dress up box.
10:00 am- Brynlee arrives at school.
NOW
6:00 pm- We are all sitting at the table eating dinner. Josh and I are discussing where they could be. I say: I have often found myself throwing away things by accident, but don't you think I would hear the keys make a "thump" if I threw them away?
7:00 pm- Wonderful husband digs through the large trash with poopy diapers, food scraps, etc. and finds the keys with a string of gum stuck to them that William decided to chew yesterday.
There you have it: MY KEY DRAMA

I Will Rise!

Josh surprised me yesterday with an ipod. He downloaded some of my favorite songs, and this is one I could listen to over and over. I thought I would share!

Happy Birthday Uncle Matthew!

We hope you had a wonderful day! We love you! Thanks for being a great big brother!

BIG shoes to fill!

William likes to be like Daddy. He used to get into my shoes all the time, but now he has started to wear Daddy's shoes. It is a good thing; Daddy was not too thrilled with his boy wearing high heels and girly flats. Someday my little boy will be able to fill those shoes, and I pray everyday that he will become a wonderful man like his Daddy.

Fun with Sewing!

As I had mentioned last post, I have had so much fun sewing and coming up with cute ideas. I never thought I would have such a passion for this hobby, but I do!!! I was thinking that I will sew various children's clothing and add appliques to different items like onesies, burp cloths, tank tops, etc. Over the next year I will have come up with enough items to start doing craft shows, etc. Well, to my surprise I have received 3 orders in the last week with just people asking about what Brynlee is wearing. Here is my first item for a 3 mo old. I finished it last night. I am quite excited about it!!

Here are some of the pieces Brynlee has been wearing.
This is an old tank top that I turned into a tunic.

Abby, I can't wait to find out what you are having so I can make something fun for Baby Lee!

Crazy but Fun!

It has been a crazy but fun last 2 weeks. We had a wedding & a birthday party. We want to say congratulations to Aunt Ashley and Uncle Jess on their wedding and the beginning of their life together. Thank you all so much for allowing us to be a part of the joyous event. I know my 2 were not the best behaved ring bearer and flower girl, but they had fun.The next big event was the birthday party for the birthday girl. Her birthday was actually the day after the wedding, but we had her party yesterday (a beach party). I must say thank you to Mamaw, Papaw, and Aunt Teri for helping us pull it off. I could not have done it with out you!!! I give a big shout out to Aunt Melissa for making the 3 hour trip with 4 kids (3.5 yrs, 2 yrs, and 6mo old twins) all be herself. Ma & Pa Kelly, we missed you, but your gift arrived just in time for the party. Aunt Lindsay, we thank you for the Princess Bible (we forgot to take it with us to church this morning, and that caused a minor fit, but we managed to convince her it will be okay to start bringing it next Sunday).
Brynlee has not stopped talking about her party, and she wants to do it again next year (we will see). She loves all her gifts. She has been in her room for several hours today playing with them all!!! Here are some pictures of the fun and very crazy beach party!!!I decided to make the cupcakes. I always get the cake from a bakery, but I decided to do it all this year. I think they turned out well. I found a decorating web site that uses marshmallows for decorating. It was very time consuming, but worth it!!!

Look what I made!!!

I am so proud of myself. I have been wanting a sewing machine for so long, and my wonderful husband surprised me with one for my birthday. Let me first say, I have not sewn since 7th grade (I made a pillow).
After reading the manual for a refresher and finding a wonderful blog that has great ideas (especially for beginners), I felt I was ready as I was going to get. Yesterday, I decided to make Brynlee a pillowcase dress. I had a set of yellow sheets we do not use that I thought would be perfect. While Brynlee was at preschool, William and I went to hobby lobby and picked out some thread, ribbon, and some other sewing necessities. While William was sleeping, I got the bobbin ready and threaded the machine, put on the embroidery attachment and embroidered the letter B (I still need to figure out how to make the letters bigger).
Now, it was time to go pick up Brynlee. When we got back, Josh was at home (Yea, he could entertain the kids while I finished). After about 3.5 hours later (I still had to participate in caring for our children), I had finished the project. I was so happy. I made my first project and it went well, and I must say, Brynlee looks mighty cute in it also.

I have already got ideas for my next project. I can't wait!!!!

Field Trip

Today Brynlee's preschool class went on a Field Trip to the Orr Family Farm. She enjoyed all the animals. Someday her Daddy wants her to show pigs (something he did as a child). Trying to make her Daddy proud, I asked Brynlee to get by the pig to take a picture. This is what I got.

Keeping a safe distance from the big fella. She still has a few years to warm up to the pig idea. She did decide to give his neighbor a little scratch on the head. He was not as intimidating.

Here are a couple more pictures of the fun times on the farm.

EASTER!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter! It is great to know we serve a risen Savior!!! Here are some of our Easter pics. The Easter Bunny delivered eggs a day early due to the Sunday forecast. Brynlee has this Easter egg hunting down quite well (she had 3 Easter egg hunts in 2 days). William, on the other hand, finds one egg then wants the candy opened immediately.

Easter day Josh and I had nursery duty (the 1-2 year old class). We were in there for 3 HOURS. It was a LONG 3 hours. I will just say; we should get credit for several days of nursery duty. We had 23 kids all between the ages of 15 mo- 24 mo. There were 5 adults, but still with everyone holding 2 crying kids, it is not enough arms. We managed to pull through and enjoyed a Sunday nap afterwards.

Easter egg hunt on Saturday. William was wanting outside NOW, that is the reason for the happy face.

Eating the Goodies!

Sweet & Sassy

Brynlee attended her first sweet & sassy birthday party!!! She had her hair fixed and nails painted, and then they got to put on a fashion show and dance to loud music. William enjoyed the event also. There is a little clip of him busting a move (sorry it is side ways, I am still figuring out the new camera, just turn your head to the left before viewing).

He's got rhythm!
